This was a project that my friend Manon carried away in 2019, under the name of Nothorma Amazons. A set of shoots in which each model had to represent a fantasy character of their Alter Ego and build a story behind the pictorial. Creating first a persona on paper and then portraying it on camera, so Manon could capture the story under a selection of images.
As you can see from this idea that she created, Manon is a super talented photographer currently based in Paris and working under her brand Nothorma. She is a great creative mind, always filled with ideas and always in search of inspiration , but also a wonderful friend with whom I had the pleasure to shoot all these beautiful images. Manon has a distinct style when shooting and it is in my opinion not only the beauty of the images but also the story they represent, they always carry a feeling. And with her we gave life to my character, Lanaï. Welcome to my story, the story of Lanaï:
LANAÏ
Name: Lanaï Age: Unknown
Backstory: Once upon a time a deity, a shining star in the firmament. But even deities, always crave what they do not have and for her, the eternal bliss of the heavens sometimes seemed dark and cold. She had seen the pain, the death, and the hate in the human world, but she had also seen love, kindness, and passion. Looking at it up close even from afar…
Being the lust for human connexion strictly forbidden among the gods, she was pointed out as a sinner to the higher council. Her lover, in fear to see her eternally punished by her own father, who was amongst the higher gods himself, secretly sent her to the earth in a semi-human form to protect her in the promise to follow her himself as soon as he could. Being found out, they were both punished to forget all memories of their past, destined to roam the earth separately, until they could finally reunite.
Amongst humans some called her a nymph, some called her a witch, to some a pure angel, to some a fallen one… Powerful and strong, sometimes dark and sometimes blaze, but always fair. Love and light are her currencies, spreading them amongst her path.
She is radiance, gleam, and dazzle getting stronger and stronger as both their paths are about to unite…
